ROANE COUNTY, Tenn.---For those looking to find unique treasures, three quaint East Tennessee communities, along with the Roane County Antique Association, are hosting the Ninth Annual Follow The Green Antique Shopping Weekend, March 16—18. Antique lovers can bargain their way through Harriman, Kingston, and Rockwood antique shops while enjoying refreshments and savings for the St. Patrick’s Day Weekend.
Eight antique stores and more than 50 dealers have collaborated to offer guests savings on antique furniture, glassware, lamps, china, fishing lures, primitives, sewing trims, pottery, garden items, art, and more. Antique lovers will enjoy the old-time memorabilia while searching for that one of a kind treasure at bargain prices.
“The event began nine years ago when six antique shops in Roane County decided to form the Roane County Antique Association to promote ideas and to advertise merchandise to attract more customers to the area businesses,” said Angie Couch, member of the Roane County Antique Association. “Our first sale was so much fun and so successful we decided to incorporate a second sale, and it grew from there.”
“This sale will be exciting in that we have four new shops which have never participated in our event. C & B Trading Post, Red Geranium Antiques and Vintage, and The Pink Polka Dot Antiques of Rockwood, and Memory Lane Antiques and Collectibles Shoppe in Kingston. Our returning shops will be Out of the Past Antiques, Adkisson’s Flowers, Gifts, and Antiques in Harriman, Kingston Antique Mall in Kingston, and O’ Those Were the Days Antique Mall in Rockwood. These shops and malls are all located within a 12 mile radius and each shop will be open from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, and on Sunday the hours will be 1:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Adkisson’s is located in Harriman’s Downtown Historical District, and has been supplying floral and gift services to Harriman and its surrounding towns since 1946. This unique shop has a fine collection of accessories and one-of-a-kind floral arrangements blended with antique furniture, elegant glassware, and lamps.
Out of the Past Antiques has been around for 30 years and specializes in unique and hard to find Victorian and Tennessee primitive furniture. The shop also carries elegant glassware and pottery, and shop owner Larry Goldston restores antique furniture.
Kingston Antique Mall hosts an array of 20 plus dealers in a shop full of fine pottery, vintage jewelry, furniture, art, linens, vintage clothing, clocks, elegant glassware, Indian pottery and rugs, and much more.
“The guys really like Kingston’s Antique Mall because they carry a large selection of fishing items, knives, coins, old tools, and vintage books,” said Couch.
Located in historic downtown Rockwood, O’ Those Were the Days Antique Mall houses everything from elegant glassware to primitives and architectural elements. The mall showcases a great mix of Victorian furniture, and antique as well as contemporary art, jewel tea china, vintage jewelry, elegant glassware, fine pottery, unique designs from local artists, primitive furniture, 50s retro merchandise, vintage linen and fabrics, a large selection of vintage garden accessories, along with a back room filled with an eclectic mix of other goods at bargain-basement prices.

“This wonderful weekend of bargain hunting and past treasures only happens twice a year, so don’t miss out,” said Couch.
All of the antique shops and malls are located in Roane County. Take Interstate40 to Exit 347 for Harriman and Rockwood shops, and exit 352 for Kingston shops.
